The boxing fight of the year between Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios was scheduled on Sunday, November 24, 2013 in Macau, China. The HBO’s first pay-per-view event outside the U.S. will be watch at 9 p.m. EST. Manny Pacquiao, who has 54-5-2, 38 knockouts will compete Brandon Rios who has 31-1-1, 23 knockouts. Pacquiao hasn’t knocked out an opponent since Miguel Cotto (2009).
However, Rios knockouts in his last 5 fights, but is fighting at Welterweight for the first time. Pacquiao’s average total power punches landed per round is 20/42 or 47.61% while Rios punches attempted per round was 21/54 or 38.88%. Pacquiao possessed an incredible hand and foot speed, can changed style to become a dynamic boxer-puncher and much more accurate while Rios has a volume power puncher, not particularly fast but never stops coming forward.
A loss on the other hand on this fight, could mean the end of his career. According to Pacquiao:
“I’m going to win this fight,” Pacquiao said. “… I enter this fight stronger than ever. I have the strength of my country and my people coursing through my body. I fight for them, not for me. I fight for their glory, not mine.”
