Italian Angler Catches 260-pound Wels Catfish

Italian angler Dino Ferrari catched an enormous 280-pound wels catfish in Po Delta Italy on Thursday. According to U.K. Mirror, Ferrari’s fish could possibly be the world’s biggest wels catfish caught with a rod and reel, though records of this sort are difficult to confirm. The Po River and Delta are popular for massive wels catfish, however anything larger than 6.5 feet is considered not typical, but this one measured 8.8 feet. Ferrari’s sponsor, called his fish the “world record spinning torpedo.”
