Eat Bulaga and TV hosts Senator Tito Sotto and Joey de Leon are in hot seat after wearing a thobe, an Arab garment for men, for the show’s Halloween Special on October 31. The said costume offended the local government of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and drew flak from netizens. Governor Mujiv Hataman stated that what Eat Bulaga did was a “mockery of and an affront to the image of the Muslim”.
“This display betrays an insensitivity by these hosts, as they equated the Muslim garb as a costume to be feared, in the way that zombies and ghouls are to be feared,” Mujiv Hataman added.
ARMM governor demands a public apology from Eat Bulaga producers and hosts because the Muslim community regarded it as an insult, disrespect, and discrimination.
Several commenters expressed dismayed:
–Bakit sa Halloween mo yan sinuot Tito Sen? Ano akala mo sa aming Muslim, multo?

–This is not a Holloween costume. In fact this is a proper (attire) of the Arab people
